GSA and GSA Students’ Association Highlands & Islands Altyre Graduate Summer Residencies 2023
GSASA are offering, in partnership with GSA Highlands & Islands, two short intensive summer residencies which will run concurrently at the Altyre campus, for participation in summer 2023.
The residency is desk-based and will be based on the Altyre Campus near Forres for a set period in the summer, between 26 June and 21 July. Accommodation will be provided to residents through GSA. You will also receive costs towards travel and a modest fee to cover your time on residency.
Applicants should put forward proposals which seek to support the development of the resident’s practice within their discipline. We would be interested to receive applications which propose creative responses to a range of questions related to craft/technology, ecology, ecosystems, circular economies, ethical engagements with the biosphere, rurality and place-making, sustainability and climate justice, and materiality.
The residencies aim to provide an opportunity for graduates from any GSA discipline to work together and build a platform for life after art school, post-pandemic. All recent graduates 2021-23 will be eligible to apply. This collaborative project, led by GSASA and delivered in partnership with GSA Highlands & Islands, seeks to support the development of self-initiated transition activities in a residency setting for graduates from UG, PGT and PGR programmes from across the GSA’s creative community.
A key aim of the project is to make the assets of the Altyre campus available to graduates for whom the location, ethos and work of GSA Highlands & Islands is particularly resonant.
The residency will be competitive, accessible by application, and there will be a selection panel appointed to review and appoint graduates to the programme.
The Deadline for Applications is Monday 15th May at 5pm. Please complete the application form and send it to Ash Watkins.
